Looking at a solid report from last month and it's got my name on it 😂 despite having no memory of having done it
colleague: really? you show up for a few months a year, and *this* is what you want to pick a fight about?? 😭

me:
your job is to keep them happy.
my job is to keep them from getting too far out of line.
we are not the same.

Anyway, we need some joy, so here's the Egyptian foreign minister being given a Lego Pyramid by the Danish foreign minister.
I have no hot flashes nor night sweats, and I sleep like a champ.

So it's difficult to see a benefit at this point to starting hormones — it'd just be Another Thing To Remember To Do.
Creatine: might help with fitness/recovery, but you have to do the work - it doesn't just work on its own
Testosterone: naturally falls during peri/menopausal years, but climbs again in 70s-80s.

Can try it for fitness/recovery, or if experiencing problems with sexual functions
Topical vaginal estrogen: very safe, start early for any local discomfort from atrophy, dryness, pain etc. — helps prevent urinary tract infections
Canadian guidelines: systemic hormone therapy indicated for vasomotor symptoms (hot flashes, night sweats).

U.S. guidelines: the above, plus osteoporosis risk

International Menopause Society guidelines: the above, plus maybe helpful for other things (cardioprotection, mental status etc.)
You do you, of course.

My doc was very clear that they were not trying to discourage me from trying hormones out, but I felt it was a solid case of "too many cooks in the kitchen"
This has been the best explanation I've found that jives with what I've been experiencing...

...which has made me *extremely* reluctant to try hormone therapy, because the wonky feedback loops mean the estrogen lows are not consistent — in fact they may be excessively high!

Real nervous about layering a vax on top of an episode of one of these wild rides, but watchu gonna do 😬
Visceral, seismic hormonal shift.

Almost a low-grade fever-like thirst and mild hot dry heat, racing heart, staggering weariness, feeling suddenly leaden. Topped off with a slight headache, dizziness and out-of-body feeling.

Ride the #perimenopause
Went with the salad/grain bowl with scant chicken, ravenous one hour later.

This is why I am not vegan or vegetarian. I have work to do!
Don't love how many load-bearing supervisory roles are either in separation/divorce proceedings or out with serious health conditions, sometimes both

Maybe it's just the age-group in question but damn
Let that be the last lunch meeting for 2025.
Sheer relief when your shoulders still fit in 11-year-old Target collab.

Not too fussed if my ride turns out to have dog fur and crushed cereal stuck in the seats

Dear everybody, the people buying the new issuance from Tech companies are NOT experts in AI. Don't ask them for their opinion on AI. They are debt investors and are buying debt from companies that have more cash than debt outstanding. They won't add any value with their opinion on 'AI'.
I did not go to a school that taught how to pick a menu item that provides enough calories yet is easily eaten while talking through an agenda, without getting grease all over clothes.
(full disclosure: I'm not actually nasal-voiced, Ivy League, or lawyer — the universe just seems to keep putting them in my path)
Tag yourself, I'm "nasally-voiced Ivy League regulatory lawyer"
it's utterly wild how the Heritage Foundation president talks about other people

if you found a guy talking like this outside, you'd probably call the cops
lol yes I did see the forecast for the next weekend.

Fall. Over.
They've gone and bloated Notepad.txt

Honestly is nothing sacred

NEW from me:

Political hostility, high visa fees and (in the case of the UK) stagnant incomes are making the UK and US less attractive destinations for top international talent.

That steep decline in the appeal of moving to the US after 2016 is 👀
