Posey: Are you sure this possibly dead old man is actually a master of seduction?

Posey appears at Lord Throbwood’s bedroom door.
Throbwood: You? What the devil are you doing here?

Abbe Vendetta whispers something unreadable from offscreen. We see his eyes poking out from a crack in the wall.

Posey: YAWN! Well, if there’s no risk of this so-called “vampire” attacking me, I suppose I’ll go to bed early. It never hurts to get a jump on breakfast.

We see a door in a hall. Jane is standing outside the door, for some reason.

Posey comes out of the door in her extra-cleavagey French dress.

Jane: Posey? Why did you change into that extremely sexy and fashionable French dress? Trying to seduce someone?

Posey: Ah. No. That’s not it at all. Just sweating a bit because I’m so scared of the vampire, I figured I’d put something on with more airflow down the front. And go outside.

Posey is outside. She meets the Earl. Abbe Vendetta is also there.
Posey: All right, let’s do this. Who’s the old man?
Earl: That’s a ghost.

Devlin: We wait for him to come to us.

Devlin: Vampires are predictable creatures. If you pay attention to their attack patterns, you can pretty much always guess where they’ll strike next.

Jane: Well, last night he attacked your ostrich, and the night before, he attacked Fanny’s ostrich. Your rooms are right next to each other… And the next door after yours...

Fanny: Is fathers!
Devlin: Well done!

Devlin: That’s it! Tonight, I’ll hide in Lord Mugthirst’s room, and wait for the attack!
Lord Mugthirst: Now wait just a minute!

Suddenly Devlin has a cannon next to him, loaded up with wooden stakes, which bristle out from the muzzle haphazardly.
Devlin: Then when that cadaverous bastard shows his face… Boom! He gets an assload of the Stakemaster 2000!

Jane: Don’t vampires have certain rules? Like they can’t enter our house if they’re not invited?
Devlin: Oh, please, Jane. It doesn’t work like it does in the stories.

Jane: Ah, so they can’t be repelled by crucifixes?
Devlin: Who said anything about that? The crucifix thing is true.

Hester: Can you really stop them with sunlight? And garlic?
Devlin: Ah, well, that lore is also accurate. Vampires are repelled by both of those things.

Jane: I also heard that they can’t cross running water? And if you throw a handful of rice, they’re compelled to stop and count the grains?
Devlin: Yeah, those parts are essentially correct.

Hester: Do they have seductive powers? Can they turn into a bat?
Devlin: Actually yes, those are real details.

Jane: Are there any other differences from their depictions in fiction, aside from the need to be invited in, which is often omitted?
Devlin: Just that part.

Chug is rarely in the spotlight, there has not been a definitive Raven arc, Dorkwinkle has been underutilized since he had babies, we keep forgetting Alix exists, and there are lots of things in our current political moment that would make a good Moobs arc.
