To be honest, I believe in rebirth, Jesus' teachings, and science. Not very compatible, but it helps to be a better person. You talked about guilt for questioning religious core beliefs you were taught. Would God care much about how one respects his creation, as long as it comes from the heart?

I decided that faith should light a flame in your soul. Traditional religions never did that for me. In the end, I settled on science and leave a corner in my heart open for the unknown.

I read it. I grew up in a Catholic household, attended a private Christian school, and church 2x a week.
My Gran talked about God when I was tiny to explain the world to me. I remember thinking this all sounded proper absurd - I was 4. I remember I tried to believe and prayed and felt like an idiot
