I wish I didn't give him the space. I wish I had just kept texting him like I've done in the past.

Now, I am preparing funeral arrangements tomorrow, picking out songs to play, and looking at who to contact with the funeral dates once it's set.

I knew he was struggling, which is why I tried so many different avenues to try and help him.

I always asked if he wanted to hang out, or I would invite him to the movies. And of course, the one day I didn't pester him with calls or messages, he does that.

At least when my dad passed from cancer, I had time to build up for the inevitably of it all. I knew more or less when his last day on earth would be. When it comes to suicide, you have no time to prepare or react.

I keep hoping I would just stfu about all of this, but I just can't. I somehow feel overwhelmed with the affection I am receiving, but also incredibly alone at the same time.

The emotional whiplash of grief doesn't help at all.

The other two days will be for the visitation and the actual funeral/burial itself.

I do not have any more PTO, so if I even wanted to take off with that, I can't.

His birthday is in a couple of weeks, too. He would have been 30 years old.

I hate that I will have to return to work on Tuesday and just Pretend that my little brother isn't dead, so I don't have to face the fear of not having money for bills. They only give 3 days of bereavement, even for close family members. I want to use one of my days for Monday.

I don't think I could ever do it now, though. I wouldn't want to put anyone through something like this ever, no matter how far into rock bottom I get. The medication helps too.

I know being happy or having fun doesn't mean he wasn't struggling still. If anything, a lot of the time, I noticed folks who consider suicide are incredibly happy their last days on earth. It's almost from a feeling of comfort, as someone who has attempted in the past.

God, he was just playing Bioshock at my house not too long ago. He seemed to be having fun, too. I just can't believe this. I need to distract myself. Maybe play games with friends.
