FIFTYoneFIFTY Sketch Poster 🦓

–book link in bio and first comment–
ORIGINAL SKETCH VERSION

Movie style poster with layered images of multiple characters and things happening;
From top to bottom:

The Golden Gate Bridge takes up the top section, strangely surrounded by a bright green mist or gas. An odd vehicle hovers in the air near one of its tall supports. There is a zoom circle that blows up the view, showing it to be a hovering air keep style vehicle covered in weird machine eyes. It's pilot is an deep black manshaped blob, covered in reddish eyes
On the other side of the bridge, a large translucent creature like an airborne whale trailing tentacles floats above the bay

Below that:
"Patrick
Loveland's" on the left
In the center, an aging white man in a nice suit sits at a desk with steepled fingers. Behind him, figuratively, are more of the manshaped blobs with different colored eyes all over them

Below that to the left and right are: a disturbing face that looks like it's breaking apart and exploding in recirculating mess, and very near that is a young woman with black bob and bangs

Down the left side is a Black man wearing a Surplus store military green drabish hooded jacket, and he has salt and pepper hair and beard
Below him is an odd young woman with something like a punky death rock look and a nose chain that seems to thread through translucent purplish teeth

Below that, a translucent man in an overcoat and horizontal striped Sweater. Different layers of his body can be seen to different degrees all around. Skin muscle bone brain, visible in different parts. Teeth can been seen through his vaguely visible lips, so it always looks like he has a kind of rictus grin

In the center with all this around him is a young man with dark reddish hair brandishing a large revolver with odd modifications and ampule added on. And he seems to aiming by looking through a camcorder view through its flipped out view screen

Finally, in the bottom-right, we see someone running down a sidewalk while a car follows on the street.

It's paperback and an #ebook and for now, if you have Kindle Unlimited, the ebook is free. $3 books early promo price if you don't have that. The publisher has its sneaky ways.

"'The Silver Revolver' is a testament to John Shirley's blunt-force storytelling ability. It's an intense crime noir that transforms not only the characters, but the reader. Make this your next absolute page-turner! Highly recommended."

Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby is a Shakespearean masterwork.

This is reinforced by the use of classic Cavalera Sepultura in the film's climax..

Oscar snubbed...and I will never forgive them.

[ this would be my 10/5 Letterboxd review, if I had one of those ]

Stay Strange Publishing logo version of Stay Strange's "Grim" character:

a grim reaper-ish guy with three almost regular eyes and a little tiny sensor eye above the central one. fleshy, skeletal, drippy. living scythe behind it, or used as such, but more like a long disused skeletal wing?

Grim is reading a floating book with one big eye on its cover, and three smaller, cloudy ones that seem to observe the viewer.

original Grim design by Sam Strange and DJ Tenshun, later interpreted by Patrick Loveland

Little Eggie! A little mushroom painting I did yesterday because I could.
Photo of a watercolour painting of a cute mushroom creature. A big round yellow orange cap with white spots. A big smile on their face and a little snaggletooth

Well, this book fair was cancelled due to Verbatim Books being shafted by the city people in charge of large events in their area and permits and such—but a smaller version is now happening on the same day, and we're going to be there!

Illustrated this and Sam Strange whipped up the promo image💀

Here's a T. Rex bored to death trying to bite their own tail. My partner asked me to animate it in stop motion, after she watched a video about the very important topic of "could T. Rex chew its own tail like a dog". The puppet is still a work in progress 🦖
I've always love this but somehow didn't know it was Struzan! love it

also, RIP 🥹

UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 4: Sylvia Rivera

In the 1970s, queer New Yorkers had been pushed to the margins of NYC. Our trans neighbors faced immense cruelty. But in Sylvia Rivera, they found a champion.

As we combat Trump’s politics of darkness, her legacy can light the path forward.
also, iirc, this was where id Software chose their name from, which makes sense ha
One of my late father's favorites, and I've always totally understood why, after watching it with him way back ^_^
