Had an affair with her source and all she got was a book deal, a cushy Vanity Fair editing gig and a year off. Real tough to be “exiled” these days

I once posted what I assumed was a boiling hot take - that The Cure are a Greatest Hits band - and was surprised to find most people agreed

I mean right on the same album we have USSR as a response to the Beach Boys and Helter Skelter as a response to The Who. So maybe?

The guy behind this account started it while studying Golf Course Management at a small Baptist college in the Carolinas if you're curious which way the wind is blowing

ICE AGENTS KILL DOG
DURING UNLAWFUL SEARCH, REFUSE TO RENDER AID, AND LEAVE WITHOUT IDENTIFYING THEMSELVES weratedogs This is Chop. He was shot and killed by masked assailants in plain clothes who go by ICE.
Unsurprisingly, they did not care enough to help the family as they tried to save him. Even more unsurprising, they did not find any evidence of the migrants they were there to terrorize in the first place.
Do not open your door for these fucking losers. Rest easy Chop

You can hear the ska in it if you *really* listen. Supposedly the Desmond in the song was a reference to Dekker, but "Israelites" didn't hit British charts until the year after, so who knows how true that is

While on the subject of Jamaican music, I bought The Specials' self titled right off a shop's turntable. The clerk sighed and said he never gets to listen to the whole thing, someone buys it every time he put it on

I gotta check that out. Peter Rowan has a more interesting career than I realized. I picked this up blind in the Bluegrass section last year, only to get home and find out it's like a Bee Gees ripoff thing

What the hell am I looking at
Top five tracks in the "Hard Rock Streaming Songs" Billboard Chart. #1 is In the End by Linkin Park. 2 is Everlong by Foo Fighters. 3 is Thunderstruck by AC/DC. 4 is Bring Me To Life by Evanescence. 5 is Kryptonite by 3 Doors Down

It makes sense. They live in LA, it's a side project for both of them plus the drummer from Gaslight Anthem. But even when they were actually touring actively they never came to Texas
