The weird thing that your analysis overlooks is that THAC0 was a simplification. Earlier incarnations had separate attack tables for each class, with AC along the top and level grouping down the side. For any combat you had to look at a table.
Simple maths trumped that, which is why THAC0 was a win

If you enjoy Blades in the Dark (or FitD) games, you might find this video interesting and helpful. I love that it frames rolls as not a ‘skill roll’ like other games, but as an ‘overcome threat’ roll.

Goal -> Threat -> Action

I can tell you nothing about this one as I’ve never been. It seems like they’re aiming for a UK Games Expo vibe. Like Airecon

That kind of thing is the one time when I find voice memos useful on my phone. Something I need to remember? “hey Siri, take a memo the flange repast will solve the domain problem” or whatever. Gives me enough context (even with word errors) to remember

*other voice assistants are available

I love using portfolio day to add people to a private list of artists (as well as following them). That makes it really easy to revisit them later when I’m looking for an artist

An introduction post.
I am a freelance concept artist and illustrator based in western France.
I explore mostly sci-fi themes for movies, games and books.
Furthermore, I am currently working on my first art book, a compilation of personal works.

What fabulous stories these pictures conjure up! I almost want to write a ttrpg inspired by each of them!

That sucks big time. The GP surgery couldn’t do it? (I had flu jab at my last GP visit - I’m potentially immunocompromised and at a checkup they said “would you like it while I’m here” to which I obviously replied yes!)

In case it is of any interest I’ve blogged about my Kickstarter experiences - the first six are associated with my first ever kickstarter

FWIW one of the main reasons that I run kickstarters is so that I can afford to get some nice art on books (and to find out whether enough people are interested in it to make it worth printing)

Towns being abandoned is quite a headline. Although if it is down to insurability, I wonder if it will end up as cheap housing and poor individuals assuming the risk themselves as they can’t be insured? Either way seems horrible.

Yet another wake up call about the scale & cost of #climate risk. That’s why we urgently need a National Climate Resilience Plan with emphasis on local funding, nature based solutions & community resilience - pls sign & share petition petition.parliament.uk/petitions/73...
Towns may have to be abandoned due to floods with millions more homes in Great Britain at risk
Every constituency projected to be at greater risk, with many areas likely to be uninsurable, Guardian investigation finds
