Exactly. It would also be interesting to know what % of people have an ideology and can place the parties correctly on a left-right scale on a number of issues.

One aspect of this is that lots of people just don't respond to the ideology question. In some data sets it can really knock down the number of observations.

"Green Lanternism" is @brendannyhan.bsky.social's great term for the idea that a president can accomplish anything as long as he tries hard enough. The new version is "Bluesky Lanternism" which is the idea around here that Democrats can accomplish anything they want if only they try hard enough..
