I investigate how voters react to partisan behavior in coalitions. The paper leverages an unexpected event from 2024, when Austria’s Green environment minister Gewessler backed an EU Nature Restoration Law against the will of her ÖVP coalition partner.

Interesting graphic on the EP vote on the VdL2 Commission. Much smaller majority at the start than previous Commissions, and I expect the “VdL2.0 coalition” to erode quickly. (Nb. Will try to look at the RCV breakdown later):
