It's like a hierarchy of needs sort of thing. Maybe I can get into all that stuff when my base desire for companionship is being met, but until then I'm still trying to fill in the bottom of the pyramid with something that actually works for me.

The sad part about that is just having a normal relationship with someone--sexually or romantically--is the fantasy. I can't even parse fantastical, impossible kinks and made up scenarios when simply having a partner that's into me physically and initiates has only happened in my dreams.
