Talk to me about video games!

Would definitely be interested in a falconeer but boats, boatoneer if you will
Jira Plans and Structure are my current go-to. Both simple and amplify the data that can already be gathered
Passion got me in. I’m not sure that’s enough anymore.

This short reflects on how the games industry has changed and what today’s candidates really need to stand out.

Game dev isn’t just about skills, it’s about the people around you.

This short talks about how to build the right connections for long-term success.

Who gave you your first shot?

Very cool! What tech did you use for that?
I think that comes down to motivation, lots of factors there (pay, security, ownership, etc) but what I do know is that most studio devs still do projects in their spare time to keep up with the latest tech and techniques. Everyone is always learning and creating
Looks like a really interesting idea! I'm curious, are the areas procedurally generated?
Unfortunately you're right. That said, games is one of the easiest industries to actually produce something for a portfolio. The ease of access to game engines and info makes it so that even solo, making a project is realistic
What makes a great game dev in 2025?

This short highlights the traits studios actually look for when hiring

Which one matters most to you?

Game dev salaries are all over the place.

Where have you seen the biggest gaps?

#GameDev #SalaryTransparency #RemoteWork #CreativeCareers #GameJobs
Oh right, that's interesting. I guess some companies will test regardless. I personally like to talk to people when they put stuff like that on an application (even if it isn't video) because it shows a different spirit to most
Hiring managers scroll past walls of text.

A video job application can help you stand out, especially in creative fields like game dev.

Have you ever submitted a video CV? Did it help?

I like how the UI health bars slide in on the character, super slick
Limbo is a good one! For me it would be Citizen Sleeper. Loved that game and couldn't put it down
Sad news to see The Outsiders closing their doors.

I was lucky to work with them on Metal: Hellsinger, a project made by an incredibly passionate team. Wishing everyone there the best in what comes next. You made something truly special.

I remember renting servers with my friends for our favorite games back in the day, there was a whole industry around that which is now sadly gone too
Sad to hear that two of my early titles are on this list. I had an amazing time working on both Dirt 3 and Dirt Showdown. Maybe time to give them one last blast before the switch off?
Heads up to all my Unity using pals

Real opportunities come from real connections, not cold emails.

This short explains how engaging with the game dev community builds trust, visibility, and *momentum*.

Where do you build the most authentic connections?

That's looking ace! Such a big difference from the first image
That would be great on lower lying banks for sure. Regardless, I love the look right now, made a big difference with those rocks
100%! Do you intend to do the same with foliage on the bank too? What kind of procedural tools are you using?
