The Republicans have both houses of Congress, the Presidency, and the Supreme Court. They could vote to reopen government but they just don’t want to. Blaming Democrats is part of their strategy to hide the truth from the public.

The 60 Senator vote required to close debate in the U.S. Senate is not a part of the U.S. Constitution but a Senate rule that the Republicans dispense with when they want to appoint extremist judges.

I applaud Albany International Airport for removing the Kristi Noem video blaming Democrats for the government shutdown. Not only is it impermissible politicization of the venue, it is also false. www.youtube.com/watch?v=4F-9...htt

It was very evident today that the fields are in need of drainage improvements, and these funds will not only help with that but also support new turf, lighting, and additional safety measures to make them more accessible and higher quality for the many youth leagues that play here every season.

I want to thank Captain MacQuoid, the volunteers of the Slater, the brave men and women of the United States Navy, and our veterans for their dedication and service to our country 🇺🇸

This celebration was very personal to me since my Legislative Director’s father, Captain Alan MacQuoid, served in the Navy for 30 years. Captain MacQuoid served in Operation Desert Storm as a naval aviator, flying P-3 surveillance planes, and was stationed aboard the USS Kitty Hawk.

This morning, I was proud to attend the USS Slater’s celebration of the 250th birthday of the United States Navy. On October 13th, 1775, the Continental Congress authorized the creation of the Continental Navy.

Today we recognize Indigenous People’s Day & honor the rich history, culture, and contributions of Native peoples across our nation.

We must continue to acknowledge the injustices of the past while committing to respect, partnership, and progress for Indigenous communities here in New York & beyond

The politically motivated prosecution of Attorney General James by the Trump administration is an attack on justice itself. I stand proudly with her and with all those who believe in fairness, democracy, and the rule of law.

Attorney General James has been an outstanding public servant who has consistently shown the courage to take on the rich & powerful when they abuse their influence. Her record speaks for itself, from protecting consumers and holding corporations accountable to defending the rights of everyday NYers.

’m proud to have a long history of supporting Menands School. In 2023, I provided $250,000 in funding for paving improvements, and in 2024, two additional grants of $15,000 and $50,000 to expand family support and educational programs.

Through this funding, the district will continue its Parent Liaison program, host family engagement events like Literacy and STEM Nights, and celebrate the rich diversity of its community with cultural and heritage events.

Born and raised in NY, Arthur graduated from Union College and went on to serve as Quartermaster General of NY during the Civil War before becoming President in 1881. His leadership championed civil service reform, earning him a place among the most respected public servants of his era.

Each year, a wreath is placed at President Arthur’s gravesite on behalf of the President of the United States, a national tradition that celebrates the legacy of every former president.
