Trump is using this painful shutdown to wipe out the CDC, just years after a pandemic killed over 1 million Americans and nearly crippled our economy. Now he’s dismantling the agency that prevents outbreaks and keeps our kids safe. As a mom, I’m horrified. Shame on you.

We must fund our government and protect Americans’ healthcare. Federal workers who keep our country running, processing veterans’ benefits, protecting airways, ensuring clean water shouldn’t pay the price for political games. They deserve better.
Congress approved this funding, but DOE unlawfully canceled $600M+ in Colorado projects as political retribution. That means lost jobs, halted power upgrades, and gutted research—all because Colorado doesn’t support Trump. We’re demanding accountability and action.
Trump might not value our federal workers, but my team and I have their backs. We’re supporting those impacted by the shutdown and hosted a resource fair. Federal workers just want to get back to serving our country they’re critical to our safety, well-being, and economy.
Trump and Republicans are shutting down the government—threatening renters, locking families out of homeownership, and gutting small business loans. Each week costs our economy $54B, all while Trump’s billionaire buddies get richer and hardworking families pay the price.

What this shutdown could mean for the economy and your 401(k) | CNN Business
Although painful for federal workers, travelers, and thousands of people and businesses in and outside Washington that partner with the US government, shutdowns typically aren’t significant events for the stock market or the economy.

Trump’s Big Ugly Bill is devastating Colorado families—cutting Medicaid payments for those caring for disabled loved ones. Life is already unaffordable, and this cruel cut could break caregivers. I’m working with Congress to demand Trump roll back these cuts and lower costs.

Colorado families caring for disabled adults to see cut in Medicaid pay
For years, family caregivers received a higher reimbursement from Medicaid than “host homes” where a handful of people with disabilities live with one or more people in charge of their …

Trump’s Big Ugly Bill made it easier to sell off our public lands—and now his BLM wants to auction 50,000+ acres in Colorado for oil and gas. Our public lands define who we are and power our economy—they should never be sold to the highest bidder.

The Interior Department agency plans to sell leases covering more than 50,000 acres of public land in the state.

Republicans are once again trying to rip away the tax credits that keep health care costs low for millions. Because of Trump, premiums could skyrocket, hundreds of thousands of Coloradans may lose coverage, and rural hospitals are at risk, all while his billionaire buddies keep their tax breaks.
Today on Indigenous Peoples Day, we honor Native communities and acknowledge the true history of colonization and discrimination. As Trump attacks their sovereignty and sacred lands, we must stand united in honoring their resilience and uplifting their voices.
Grateful to join the Evergreen community for their annual Health & Safety Day. Even as they heal from the Evergreen High School tragedy, their strength shines. Thankful to spend time with first responders and frontline workers who keep us safe every day.
Trump’s tariffs are a tax on working families. An 81-year-old Coloradan paid $467 at CVS for medicine that costs $27 in Canada. No one should choose between health care and essentials. I hope Republicans join us in forcing a vote to end these reckless tariffs.
Republicans gutted our health care system in their Big Ugly Bill — now millions could see premiums double or triple in weeks. Instead of lowering costs for working families, GOP leaders spread lies. Tax credits require citizenship, legal residency, and paying taxes. Shameful.

Attention Lakewood! If you’ve been impacted by the shutdown, our office is here to support you.

Thanks to the nearly 16,000 Coloradans who joined our telephone town hall last night! I know many of you are worried about the shutdown and health care crisis. My team and I are working around the clock for you and your family — we’ll get through this together.
We rely on federal workers for national security, public lands, wildfire response, vital benefits, and even keeping planes from colliding. Shutdowns devastate workers, our economy, and safety. We need a bipartisan path to lower health care costs and tackle urgent needs.
Two years ago today, Hamas launched a brutal and unprovoked attack on Israel that killed 1,200 people and took 251 hostages - including 12 Americans.

Proud to stand alongside @WhipKClark.bsky.social& @DemWomenCaucus.bsky.social to fight to protect the health care so many moms & kids rely on.

Families won’t be able to afford the skyrocketing cost of health care if we don’t act.

Us moms will not back down.
Federal employees shouldn’t be used as political pawns, but that’s exactly what Trump is doing—threatening to force them to work without pay or fire them. A wildland firefighter in my district is terrified about a Trump shutdown. Worried too? Share your story: https://bit.ly/4mRBNdz
Donald Trump refuses to negotiate with Democrats to lower health care costs. Instead, he’s threatening mass firings of federal workers, 80% of whom live outside DC. These are our neighbors and vital to our economy. Their livelihoods shouldn’t be used as retribution.
More than 77,000 kids in our state lack health insurance. Trump's Big Ugly Bill cuts Medicaid like never before, gutting our health care system. As a mom, it breaks my heart knowing kids won’t get the care they need. Our kids deserve better.

Great to join the HOYA Foundation to support their work engaging young women in the opportunities available for them to work in the construction and transportation industry. Their event hosted 2,000 girls in high school to expose them to the unlimited opportunities here in Colorado.
We have a toddler in the White House, and Republicans are caving to his tantrums—shutting down the government and withholding billions for critical projects in blue states. Democrats are ready to negotiate a bipartisan path forward when they’re willing to talk.
My mom wouldn’t be alive today without Naloxone.

That’s why I introduced legislation to ensure patients who are at-risk of overdosing can leave the hospital with naloxone in hand. We know naloxone saves lives - let's make sure everyone who needs it can access it.
