Thanks for that. I saw the news item where Vance broke a trophy. I hadn’t realised it was the same trophy. I just wonder what keepsake from Windsor Castle made its way into his suitcase to go on display in his tasteful Oval Office.

Am I being oversensitive in perhaps hearing an echo from Germany in the 30s? On the other hand, there are so many echoes of that dreadful period today.

This really puts into doubt all the hopes of the midterms saving America. If this is happening in one state, might it not be happening in all the others? I wish you success in your efforts and hope that I live to see the return of the America that I have loved and frequently visited over many years.

Are you a little child? No, I am not insulting you or your intelligence. I am concerned if little children might be in a room with a Republican. If so, I will contact social services and the local police immediately. If it’s a bear then you’re on your own. After all bears have to eat.

I’ve consistently said, since Trump began his move towards authoritarian rule, that the World Cup and the Olympics should not take place in the United States. And if they do, anyone who attends them from abroad should feel the same shame as those who attended the Nuremberg Olympics in 1936.

I hope you are successful. As an outsider looking in, it seems to be the Republicans who have no reluctance to bend rules to suit themselves. And it works. whenever there is a fight, the Republicans bring knives, and the Democrats bring tea and cake and reasonableness.

I just have a slight concern that this is exactly what Trump‘s entourage want. The press coverage will all be by the Trump sympathisers from the fringes – even beyond Fox!

The next steps will be setting up camps for conversion therapy for anyone who is not their brand of Christianity. And other camps for those who are liberals. And before laughing at this idea look where you are in America today compared to a year ago. I hope Saturday is beyond ginormous.

Why is it that in the UK whenever someone suggests we have a president rather than Monarch they respond by asking if we would prefer some divisive politician? Ireland counters that by having intelligent and mature presidents who the people can be proud of on the national and international stage.
