These ones were the C17, so the big boys. The largest commercial aircraft that can legally land is a320 or 747 so you can imagine how big the C17 is on our small runway. But they do it easily. The Fokker is one of our border force aircraft, photo doesn't do the C17 size justice.

That isn't a easy yes or no question. Our PM has his first face to face next week I think. What I can hope for is some sense of normality resuming after the current fkers are gone because Australia once valued that relationship much more than it currently does.

Was a real thrill, most exciting thing that happens here LOL. When they departed they looped around the South of the island and did a low alt high speed pass along the North. Buzzed the whole town as they say.

Seems sensible to me but I'm just a mechanic on a prehistoric island a long way from home toto. Canadian air force had a C17 up here only a couple of months ago, Australian air force had 2 up here in the last 2 days. Complete coincidence to our conversation. Photo this afternoon my wife took.

Maybe conspiracy theory isn't the correct word to explain the capability but rather the intention for what such ability might be used for. If we ever got to the stage the US military was shutting down allied aircraft then kiss your ass goodbye 🤣

The kill switch is conspiracy theory kind of stuff. If we ever got to that point we are all screwed. You would want a mixed fleet militarily wouldn't you? Say if 1 jet has a strength over the F35 it might not have that same strength over a Typhoon. The whole eggs in one basket thing

Compared to Australia Canada has a really really small air force, I had no idea. We have over 70 F35's and a much larger fleet of other aircraft. No political comment just interesting stats. You would think strategically you would want both the F35 and something else.
