Yes! My friend told me to leave it at a hostel when I finished it. Absolutely not!!

Other thing is musical attachment. I was reading Gormenghast & listening to The Decemberists. They are now so intrinsically linked I can’t think of one without the other. It became the soundtrack.

I have a battered American Gods paperback that travelled with me around China. It is knackered but I love it. You can practically see every step of the stress, fun, anxiety, heatstroke and adventure on it.

Yeah, I remember as it finished I was a little disappointed but it lingered and lingered. Love how it leaves so much unexplained and I think the scenes with the chimp are some of the most tense, terrifying moments in film. Genuinely horrific!

Just about. Spent a small fortune even though it is noticeably cheaper here than Leeds - pints for just over £5 and cocktails for £7.95!! Eaten very well too. Putting off the packing to go home until last minute.

Saw this as part of Leeds International Film Festival and it was one of the most stressful, tense films I’ve seen at the cinema. Loved it. Just relentless!

Remember seeing it at the cinema and it was just such great fun. What makes it for me is just how much the adult cast are enjoying themselves - Hayek, Patrick and Janssen in particular.
