The guy loved his double blades!
Is that Tom Grummet’s work?
Such a great comic! Looking forward to the next arc!
I made Stud when I got overcome with nostalgia and wanted bring some of the grit of the old He-Man minicomics to the He-Man children’s cartoon. And when I considered how superficial He-Man’s heterosexuality was, I figured Stud should be gay. And also deal with the fascist tendencies of superheroes.
I loved the movie’s mix of horror and sci-fi, the idea that bending space-time could take you to a terrible dimension. It’s awesome that they exploring the origins. I’ve been reading about the prequel but haven’t picked it up yet. Would love to see what you do with the blank variant cover!
Ha! “Where we’re going, we won’t need eyes to see!”
Yikes. Looks like an Ari Aster movie
You’ve seen Event Horizon, right?
Thank you for showing these great examples of indie success—and leading the charge! Great reminder that the audience is out there and the barriers are our own imagination and ambition. Success to me is reaching new readers, which I hope will lead first to sustainable creation and then profitability!
I remember that run. I really liked this era of Superboy too!
Batman Began. Christian Bale’s voice as Batman is one of the balliest choices I’ve ever seen. Maybe he just couldn’t breathe thru his nose? No wonder Tom Hardy as Bane was like, “I’ve got to up my nonsense!”
Yes! Namorita is awesome! I had a letter printed in a New Warriors issue that was basically a Namorita solo adventure. Special place in my heart for her!
I love Ladronn! It has such a heavy, sculptural, Kirby vibe! Seemed to make Cable a much more interesting character than he had been.
His poses, advantageous
Fun to see this recent review of STUD! I imagine the reader came across it thanks to it being on the shelves at @silversprocket.net :) Fair criticisms in there. A danger of going gonzo! Glad to hear the LGBTQ+ messaging was well received. www.reddit.com/r/QueerSFF/c... #comicbooks #comicsky #lgbtq

I was just looking at this series! I remember loving the art, but it wasn’t quite as good as I remembered! Sometimes it did really look great (like QS in the corner box)
These things were never meant to last. That’s what makes them cool! I love DC’s Asbolute Universe and hope it doesn’t stick around too long.
The heroes rely on Oliver’s close relationship with Hal to distract Parallax enough to stop him. It’s good Green stuff. And it was fun how they did a Hard Traveling Heroes with Kyle and Connor.
Connor was Green Arrow from like issues #100 or so to about #140 I think. Written by the great Chuck Dixon, and rich, almost Sal Buscema-style art by Doug Braithwaite. I really liked Connor’s character. There’s a great Grant Morrison JLA story with Connor. A lot of good issues with Connor!
Love Super Sal! It took a bit for my 90s kid eyes to appreciate his style, but it’s so unique and detailed and expressive. I love it.
