I'm still processing the loss of Kylene Beers, a giant in our field. Here is an interview she did two years ago with me and Penny Kittle: www.youtube.com/watch?v=u9oo...

I need to buy the others now that you mention it. :)
Thanks, Brent. I appreciate finding so many people I've been missing.

Financial statement today reminded me HOW GREAT IT IS when folks request that their libraries acquire books. 😍

Seriously, if you want a totally free-to-you way to help an author, submit a request with your local library. Those sales help us so much, in whatever format.
The Last Mapmaker! Loved it.
Woah... what is this? I spent all of middle school reading Tolkien and Lewis.
Thank you. Can't wait to read.
Such a book. About time to reread it.
gotta read both. Thanks.
Another one for my list...thanks for sharing.
Jason "read" the first chapter from memory at a Boston event I went to. So powerful.
Gotta order this. Thanks.
Nobody seems to know Sadie. I love the podcasting/narrative combo.
I don't know this. Should it move up on my TBR list?
I liked it better, too. LOVE this warrior woman.
Happy holidays… ❤️ loved our December book study on Teens Choosing to Read with @gayivey.bsky.social and Peter Johnston with the book-love-community.mn.co.
I shared this article in Wisconsin last week... AMAZING, right? I listen to several books a month now because of my commute to campus, and I've come to love being read to. How about you? #booklove
Audiobooks or Reading? To Our Brains, It Doesn’t Matter
Stories stimulate the brain in the same way, regardless of whether they're read or heard.

I’m rereading this fascinating 4-year study of teen readers with book-love-community.mn.co teachers this month. Such an important book for middle and high school teachers.
Interesting take on why many students have stopped reading. The clear way to ignite regular, engaged reading is known by teachers: time in school to read at their own pace, choice in what they read, & access to many, many books.

It’s about love…what we love to read is as individual as we are. ❤️

Still marinating in the joy of the NCTE24 annual convention in Boston. Grateful to be an English teacher learning beside authors and colleagues. ❤️
