It's not easy to read this, knowing the plans we had won't take shape. But personally I'm really proud of what we did for 30 years and how I was able to be part of the solution for the last 7.

This will not get the attention it deserves.

A community recognized the harm that traditional policing does and made a change.

They are addressing the causes of violence rather than just responding to violence through punishment.

This is public safety.
