Roddenberry’s idea was that clothing norms would be more fluid in the future. A great sentiment but what we got was either a too long shirt or a too short skirt. I won’t be wearing underwear if I put one on. Thems the rules.

All of season one’s problems can’t be boiled down to the skant. Great idea, horrible in execution. I’d definitely wear one to bed, no joke.

The Wire is better, I’m afraid. It’s a masterpiece. TNG isn’t far behind, in my opinion, but season 1 is rough as hell. Both extremely different of course.
