Graham is an old friend of ours from way back— he was a bartender at our neighborhood spot and worked with my wife there. I would run through a brick wall for this guy. Please, please have a look at supporting him. I’d say he is a regular guy, but he’s so much better than regular.

Because it fits any reasonable definition of the institutional dem party, which you said doesn’t exist. And then you went down a rabbit hole of hairsplitting to show everyone how smart you are.

Correct but the DSCC itself is literally fundraising with her.
pedroyokes.bsky.social
They’ve formed a joint fundraising committee with her.

That’s not a quote; that’s the reporters words. You don’t have the transcript. The only part where he mentions Hawley is the quoted part.
pedroyokes.bsky.social
He did not say he admired Josh Hawley. A reporter asked him to name some senators he admired and then obviously pressed him for a Republican and he said he agreed with Hawley on one thing (which presumably we all do)
pedroyokes.bsky.social
I’m familiar with how all of this works.

And yes, you’re being pedantic by taking the term Institutional Democratic Party way too literally here.
pedroyokes.bsky.social
The right wing is currently waging their entire Virginia campaign around Jay Jones offensive private texts.
pedroyokes.bsky.social
You’re being literal to the point of pedantry here.
pedroyokes.bsky.social
These people are currently running an entire campaign strategy for governor of Virginia based on private text messages from someone who is not even running for that office.

Eh, the DSCC endorsing a candidate the day they enter the race does kind of show the institutional Dem party is a thing that exists.

It’s fine and it’s part of politics — I also think it’s quite beatable— but I saying it doesn’t exist is a stretch.

She can run. The issue people have is the DSCC endorsing her and funding her campaign with corporate cash on the day she announces.

Platner will beat her. It will make him better. But it’s a bad look for DC Dem leaders, who continue to show that they’re out of touch with the voters they need

Like he named a bunch of very liberal senators and then when asked for a Republican said Hawley has a good idea about banning stock trading which btw, Collins doesn’t support. Saying he admires Josh Hawley is a massive stretch here given the context.
pedroyokes.bsky.social
Ok I found out, this reads VERY much like a reporter asked him to name a Republican he could say something good about, and he said he could find common ground with Hawley on one narrow thing and he pointed to a really popular thing that Collins opposes.

That’s good politics.

I would need to see the reference to have more context — which I can’t find online anywhere. But I can assure you he does not admire Josh Hawley. He eats, sleeps, and breathes community and union organizing and supports Medicare for all and isn’t taking AIPAC money.

He did security work — protection for US State Dept workers in Afghanistan — for a couple months in 2018. Then he quit. If people think that’s disqualifying so be it. But people acting like he’s buddy’s with Erik Prince is disingenuous.

When out of state candidates stop sending me texts and calling me for money all stop having an opinion on these races
pedroyokes.bsky.social
When did he say that? I saw him just last month and talked to him. I’ve texted with him a few times since he announced. Never seen him say anything like that and I would be shocked if he has expressed any support for Hawley
pedroyokes.bsky.social
I mean, honestly, how do you expect him to disprove a negative?

It can sometimes seem like MAGA-oriented media/influencer is an easy way to make a lucrative amount of money— because the people are doing so are incredibly mediocre.

But it’s also an incredibly crowded and oversaturated market! (See Dr. Phil)

I mean everyone has admitted there was an affair of some kind — they were sexting— it’s not in dispute.
