Up until my current freelance contract included insurance, I paid my own for 20+ years.
It went up huge $ every year. Deductibles of $16,000 or more & I was still paying $1000+ a month.
I cannot forget that, but you’re right, a lot of people do, (or never had to pay their own)

They absolutely cannot imagine it.
Kinda like how Congress can’t fathom how losing a job means losing health insurance. They get everything free for life (paid for by our taxes) so they do not care about us one bit.
Even if they lose their seat (which they all should), they still keep insurance. 🤬

This from a guy who even if he loses his “job” gets to keep his completely free (to him) platinum level healthcare.
Any of us lose our job and we’re paying huge $$ for Cobra or going on to ACA Marketplace for high deductible catastrophic plans.
