Pharmacies are a vital cornerstone of communities, but Jhoots Pharmacy is letting our community down.

It's good to see some some much needed attention on the situation at the Morriston branch of Jhoots in the South Wales Evening Post - staff and customers deserve better.
I’ve just watched EP 1 this evening. It’s *so* good. as good as anything and better than most things on TV right now.

(Another of Mick Herron’s books is starting in a couple of weeks - “Down Cemetery Road”)
We have a dog who tells us in no uncertain terms that it’s bed time (and for that matter tea time (ours) and that we should be in the kitchen.

He’s going to be confused in a couple of weeks when the clocks change.
“Bloke denied entry to Australia because he tried to enter the country on a work trip with a tourist visa”

Why is it even news?

Theres soon to be a test on whether those who opine about screening actually understand the principles on which screening programmes are based

In the meantime here is a masterclass from Prof Baum

(More advanced classes are available)
I’m so glad we sent the “contractors” packing. The job had been sub-contracted so many times from the Energy company offering the service that they (the two men that arrived at our house) were unable to give me any confidence that they weren’t opportunist conmen. They may well have been!

Forced to share pins, left open to fraud!

1 in 5 with mental health conditions risk financial abuse by sharing pins as banks don't offer carers cards, 3rd party notifications or controls. We want to change that. Full info www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/2025/10...
They presumably also have a councillor who they could contact? Our councillors are quite visible - perhaps we’re lucky?
‘Twas ever thus.
Sometimes I get signed up for stuff by people who accidentally or by intent use my real email. Some organisations are better at resolving this than others. A local ReformUK group were good (no I hadn’t donated to them & didn’t want their mailings), EE less so.
Gmail ignores dots in email addresses, so if your Gmail address is FN.LN@… you get loads of mail from FNLN@….

I never use that for of my address but the vast majority of Gmail emails that I receive are of that form.
I did see the smiley
This is *very* true. I have to live here!!

(Well I don’t *have to* but currently do)
Weird that East Mids is describing 200m visibility as mist. (Gloucester (cropped out of screen shot) shows 200m as fog.)

I though vis <1000m was fog and >1000m was mist
They help you be seen
It’s *really* foggy. Birmingham
Airport next door is reporting 50m visibility. It’s probably about that here 3 miles away (and I bet plenty of of drivers around here will have no lights on!)
