Update: Just got the @environmentca.bsky.social alert. Better late than never!
Surprised we're not hearing official warnings about today's air quality in Vancouver.
Better late than never 😉

Can you be more specific regarding where I suggested private schools receive "lavish" funds? I used the actual number from govt docs.
While govt says there's no $ for public sector wage increases, it gives $570 million/yr to private schools. Let's redirect that to public schools and give teachers & support workers the increases they deserve. #bcpoli #bced @bctf @bcgeu @CUPEBC
The top brass at @VSB39 don't seem to be affected by budget constraints (while lowest-paid workers get wage cuts) and they apparently can't afford to pay living wages to people who drive kids with disabilities. I believe there have been raises since these numbers. #vanpoli #bced
I'm not opposed to compensating people well when they're outstanding performers. But this? When they cut school bus drivers' already-low salaries? #vanpoli #bced
The @vsb39.bsky.social has posted a statement regarding ABC School Trustee Alfred Chien's X/Twitter post. Has he apologized to the parents and DPAC? #vanpoli #bced www.vsb.bc.ca/page/80102/f...
The parents did a very well written presentation (which I've seen). Only three trustees attended. None from ABC. They've tried all kinds of things. This is only one tactic.
Maybe that's why I topped the polls every time I ran 😉
I was on the receiving end of lots of these while I was a trustee. I took them seriously and respected that parents have a lot on their plates and shouldn't have to be advocating like this for the children's right to an education.
Also, my understanding is that while the emails were auto addressed, they contained personal messages and stories.
Maybe it's the easiest way for exhausted parents raising kids with disabilities to get the attention of trustees who refuse to attend parent meetings they're invited to. These parents have thought a lot, prepared presentations etc.
8. And if you’re not willing to do the job, then step aside. Students deserve better. So do their families. It’s time to raise the bar on your performance as a school trustee. Our students and their families deserve better. #bced #vsb #vanpoli

7. Deleting the tweet was a good start. Now do this:

🔹 Apologize to every parent who emailed you— publicly & by email
 reply.

🔹 Apologize to DPAC

🔹 Meet with the Inclusive Ed Working Group

🔹 Listen. Collaborate. Advocate.

6. To Trustee Chien:

Three words — How Dare You?

You were elected to serve. That means students and their families. You’ve had over two years. What do you have to show for it? /7
5. Worse, his tweet showed parent names — a potential violation of provincial privacy law. He’s since deleted it, but here's a redacted screenshot. (His original tweet didn’t redact the names.) /6
