Watched KPop Demon Hunters (2025); Rumi, Mira, and Zoey of the girl group Huntrix, has competition, the demonic boy band Saja. The kids are alright.
This was fun.

The Fuseli swipe is bearable, given the original was almost 200 years old at the time.

A lifelong inspiration, even before Star Wars, before I knew his name.
There is a pantheon of poster illustrators, Richard Amsel, Robert McGinnis, Bob Peak, Howard Terpning, Frank McCarthy, Mitchell Hooks, waiting for him with a cool drink and a job "Well done."

Rest in peace, Drew Struzan.

Latest read, The Bad Seed (1954) by William March; a psychopathic child becomes a nightmare for the community and her mother.
Superior to the movie, with a bitter, dark ending the 1956 Hollywood movie could not do.
Nominated for the National Book Award. This is good, classic horror.

Watched Sinners (2025), dir. by Ryan Coogler; twin brothers (both played by Michael B Jordan) return to Mississippi to start a juke joint and receive very unwelcome guests.
A vampire movie with fresh ideas, originality, racial & social themes.
Whole cast is strong. A terrific horror movie.

Rereading Solomon Kane by @patrickzircher.bsky.social This is an underrated gem from earlier this year. As writer and artist, he puts on a master class. These pages are just an example of great action, pacing, emotion/acting from the characters, and on and on. So good!

My son-in-law and daughter are visiting and after a day out we watched The Manchurian Candidate (1962).
They've never seen it. Weren't sure at first. I said watch the first 15 minutes and if you don't want to watch the rest, we'll skip it.
They were hooked.
