We need to understand that the “can you imagine if a Democrat…” gedanken is now meaningless. Trump is a singularity and there is simply no symmetry. Once he’s gone, Democrats will still be pilloried for the exact same transgressions for which Trump went Scot-free. That’s how it works.

Sadly, the indictments are the end goal. In the future, even if they're summarily exonerated, expect to hear Trump refer to Comey and James as "The indicted, disgraced Jim Comey and Tish James." I expect we'll hear similar nonsense from Pam Bondi.
