Personally, I feel that Signposting is not helpful unless accompanied by hands-on support. In 10+yrs I had no respite for one of the two people I cared for. I cared day and night without a day off. No sick leave, no holiday ( where I wasn't still caring) no real support. Im exhausted.

4.But this poverty affects health and wellbeing, which when combined with grief and loss, extra bills and reduced benefits plus long employment gaps due to caring make it very difficult to reenter the workforce. #Carers need more support.

3.When #Caring ends #UnpaidCarers are often burned out and exhausted and yet they can be forced to find work due to being unable to lift themselves out of poverty due to DWP rules on earned and unearned income.

1.. #UnpaidCarers should be given free financial advice re the impact of giving up employment, benefits entitlement, and pension payments. They should be supported to pay into a pension and offered 'trade union' support regardless if whether they are employed.

My concern is that #UnpaidCarers will be forced to do paid work as well as care but when will they sleep or be able to go out and socialise or undertake leisure? Who will care for those in need when the carer is at work ?
USA Republican & UK Labour both passed measures to reduce welfare spending for sick and disabled people
Exactly. It's called the sweat coin app... so those who could walk could buy cheap products... those who couldnt walk got no benefits as the app is not nhs but a private provider... good for some ... play.google.com/store/apps/d...

I've been on steroids for nearly 2 years whilst the hospital trialed 5 other drugs that i reacted to - injected a new one today 🤞.Steroids have caused prediabetes and weight gain. I struggle to move on low doses the nhs diabetes course includes a walking reward app that doesn't reward other exercise
Oops should have posted the BBC link !!!
They already do this on prediabetes schemes.. there's an app where you can get discounted products if you walk.. it's ableist. Doesnt reward other exercise.

Some people with mobility issues or who are wheelchair users need to be rewarded too... perhaps reward swimming or other exercises otherwise the scheme is ableist. Make healthy food cheaper. Then people will have a choice of what to buy and eat. #Carer

This is very concerning, as it will encourage people to gamble and perhaps lose their own and indeed other's money and leaves people vulnerable to economic coercive control .. would have been better to tax everyone an extra 1% for 2 yrs as a covid recovery measure... No.

The impact of self service tills is that people are isolated. Ive not spoken to anyone today and yesterday I didnt either. At least when tills are staffed you can make small talk.. #Disability.
I went shopping yesterday in a small store &through gritted teeth and pain I managed. No one could help. Today I cannot move. I am bed bound. So exhausted. This is the reality of variable conditions. This is ç PIP is essential. I can't wash, dress, clean. ... #Disability
