When I saw Jim’s prompt, I had no particular song in mind but I wanted one that had bones in it. Something for the listener to gnaw on when they heard it. Doing a YouTube search with bone, this one popped up. Have you ever listened to an album and apprehended it via the musical aspect without knowing the titles and lyrics.

Extreme Moderation Summer and winter extremes, their domains of life and death; where only hardy dare tread, watched through windows instead. It is in freedom of spring and fall where moderation gives its all that we step out and call Nature our friend.

I've started to listen to release radar again.  Now that I have a ginormous number of liked music and musicians they can base customized new release playlists on them. The playlists run from Friday to Thursday, so this batch is from 10/10-10/16.  Every one of these songs are winners in my book.  DAMFINE 🙂 I've included YouTube videos and a Spotify playlist at the end.

Solstice Lady Luna leades the way glowing reflection to look to balancing of darkness and light if just for a day. The cyclicity of things says things cannot stay still; peace must remain but ideal in a beautiful, terrible sea of chaos.

Was just putting it back together from Sunday (now you see how busy I've been!) and realized I hadn't opened that 4th fold.  Here is the fully opened CD cover.  IIRC this was one of the first paper folded CD covers I bought.  Up to then full hard plastic.  I remember thinking PJ cares about the environment by going paper.  I think paper is the standard now.  For those who have Spotify and haven't heard the whole album, here ya go:

Blood drips into sink. “Billy, come down for breakfast!,” Ma yells. I already know it’s blueberry pancakes by the aroma wafting up the stairwell. They’re my favorite, but knowing I’ll be rumbling down our pothole-filled road on the bus in an hour has made me queasy.

Flag Day 2025 Peaceful assembly carried the day in America. Small town folks came out in big numbers, energizing each other. We are not alone. Trained men on trained horses in large cities trodding on freedom breeding only contempt for a small man, orange-stained, straining on a gold throne.

It's going to be difficult to write about indigenous people in the North American continent without accompanying guilt and shame. Pearl Jam with Jack Irons as drummer I just listened to The Doors sing about a mosquito in Ange's post and it reminded me of this song by Pearl Jam.  I thought I'd written it up before and learned it was for SLS post looking for an animal 6 years or so (time flies!) so here it is again.  It's a GREAT song, a little dark. 

Claws It is not through the face but the ears with which a cat shows her mood. Pointed forward with purr. Pointed back with tail swish. Eyes can go either way. The beast in her is in her claws.

When I saw Jim's SLS prompt this week, my first thought was Pearl Jam's exquisitely poignant song, "Given to Fly," but decided instead to do a repost about Lilli Lewis, whom I first heard on Spotify's Release Radar, with her song, "Firefly." I was not able to find lyrics. Lilli Lewis I use my voice to bring sacred songs into profane places.
