Aspiring author, reluctant world traveller, and astonishingly cynical occasional analyst of international politics. Some things I just do for me. The best hope for all humanity is respect for the law. A law men don't respect is no law at all.

Call the nightingale
There is heartache on your lips
And your heart's a foreign house
And your soul is full of rips
But don't be scared of the dark
It's been less bite and more bark
Don't be scared of the end
Life always begins again
Honestly, I thought this whole move was supposed to make me less depressed.
I guess I'm out of bed and facing the ruins of the world head on, so...
Must be nice to believe in fairy tales.
But hey. Power to the people, right?
Anyone who's not convinced by ongoing video coverage isn't going to be convinced by Lees and his merry men.
And as much as people like to dress it up, the protests didn't move the needle one bit. Actual people with power in the halls of power reached their own conclusions without reference.
The right to protest is upheld.
The protest itself will, of course, be much sound and fury, signifying nothing.
But if we banned things for being inconvenient and largely useless, we'd have to ban the New South Wales parliament.
Godspeed, Palestinian Action Group.

I have been, at a minimum, sick for 60% of my time here, and most of the remainder has been me being injured.
I'm not sure my luck will be better in Melbourne, but at least the infrastructure will be there.
Really not sure why this Calvinist work ethic is a thing here.
98% finished on the novel!
The knowledge this has probably been a terrible waste of time and money and my life is omnipresent, but I'm trying to take steps forward to finish anyway.
Lose 100% of the swings you don't take and so on.
I hate dmming people, so I'd rather ask you. Sorry if it's out of line. Does she work independently or only through publishers?
I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired, and moving to Melbourne because I literally nearly died in Armidale twice and need better medical care both sucks the joy out of it and is as harsh an indictment of New South Wales' treatment of its regions as I can imagine.

The thing that sucks about the Unbound/Boundless scandal is not just that they stole a life changing amount of money from me ($15k+) They did do that. But what hurts the most is that they’ve derailed any momentum my debut novel was achieving (you only have one of those in your entire career)
I'm sure lots of people imagine some noble moment where piracy and blackmail inspires the Israelis to alter their calculus, but it won't and, frankly, shouldn't.
I'm actually impressed by how ineffective Ansar Allah is. It's difficult to fail more than a drumming circle, but here we are.
I genuinely don't see the point.
It's the sort of thing that if it didn't involve zombies would probably cost five times as much.
No one told me there was a new edition of International Politics and Zombies, the best book on international politics that people will dismiss because it involves zombies.
Look, this girl is having a bad day and shall take my wins where I may find them.
Hahaha seven dollars! I bet it's actually worth much less because of the yellowish pages but look at some of these names!
But, again, buy book 2 new if you can afford it, to support her... And then just never read it. That's better for everyone.
I've already sung the song of waiting almost my entire life for book three of this series, but I do want to reiterate that people complaining about Martin really need their perspective checked.
Anyway, last I heard she's doing better personally, which is good.
Not seen: books up to date with modern scientific thought or wrong in interesting ways, at least to me. Used popular science books, unless you're plundering them for references for similarly out of date science books, are always a problem.
