When you're writing a fake journal entry from the perspective of your game's main character and they end up sounding a bit too much like you so you change the arbitrary date to not be suspicious

Obviously, we haven't implemented any art just yet, but here's what a test level screen looks like outside of camera view. We're not entirely sure how this is going to go putting actual art assets in and making it 2D, but this is what I'm working with right now. More later.

Here's where the problem comes in. The game itself is planned to be in 2D, to accomodate for hand-drawing assets in notebooks, but now the Unity project is set to operate in 3D, so we have to fake 2D now. (cont.)

like an old map spread out on a table. To accomplish this, I decided to draft it in 3D. The camera would be at an angle, as if to be standing beside the table, and the camera would move around like that while you're selecting a location. This took me about 2 hours to (cont.)

discovered a fascinating little quirk with Unity today.

So, for the game we're working on, Megan and I decided that we want to have the game's art be reminiscent of a person's journal entries. I also really liked the idea of having the sort of map/hub world screen look (cont.)
