This Saturday, July 12, Open Streets Roxbury will transform Blue Hill Ave into a car-free, family-friendly, and pedestrian-focused boulevard from Quincy Street to Warren Street from 10:30 am to 3 pm. Shop and support Open Streets vendors and local, small businesses as they expand to the street!

The 2025 Open Streets season kicks off this Saturday, July 12 with Open Streets Roxbury!

During our Open Streets events, neighborhood streets are closed to vehicular traffic to safely make space for music, games, bicycling, community tabling, and more.

In early 2025, the Licensing Board approved 37 new liquor licenses. Today, the Board approved another 21, bringing the total to 58. The Licensing Board will continue to award neighborhood liquor licenses on a rolling basis in an effort to support small, local businesses.

The Licensing Board will send these applications to the Massachusetts Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission (ABCC) for further review.

The approved applicants span eight neighborhoods throughout the city, including Brighton, Dorchester, Hyde Park, Jamaica Plain, Roslindale, Roxbury, South End, and West Roxbury.
