"All people deserve soup" means human rights for all. No exceptions. Cussing breaks automatic thinking and opens paths. Make America KIND (not nice) Again.

Now that we have the ability to both post video and pin posts, here is an introduction video I made for Tiktok. It is fully captioned.
A reminder: If you have minor children and are planning to attend protests, make sure that a trusted friend or family member has a durable POA for medical and educational decisions and is willing to step in if you and your co-parent(s) get detained by ICE or other Feds.

An honor to receive the endorsement of
of nearly a dozen Black clergy leaders in Crown Heights today, including Bishop Orlando Findlayter.

I’m grateful for their support, and this powerful and humbling prayer.
4. Rest as frequently as you need to. If you don't let your body and mind rest, your body and mind will take over and *demand* rest, and you won't have any choice in the matter. This is a marathon, not a sprint. 5/5
3. Pick one or two issues that are of vital importance to YOU and protect and defend those. Trust that there are other folk doing their best for other issues you care about. 4/5
2. Build your community(s) to better be able to respond to what is going on in an organized way while taking care of each other. 3/5
1. Have a daily routine of assessing your energy and ability to respond (not react) to what is happening, and act accordingly.

Folks, if you're going to pay attention to the fire hose of bad news out there, ALSO pay close attention to how its affecting your mental health, physical health, and relationships. And if you're going to continue to follow the news, also: 1/5

Shades of Ronald Reagan and the Iran hostage manipulation. Only this was exponentially more evil
It's time to bring out this thread again.
All three of these are designed specifically to elicit emotions in order to short circuit thought.
Next, lets look at the outright lies in the post: 2/10
Newsflash: Not only is treating other people with kindness at an institutional level the right thing to do, in almost all circumstances it is also *enormously* less expensive in the long run.

What’s the upshot if Trump “loses” cases over firings and impoundments two or three years into his term? A fully corrupted government that the next president will be proscribed from de-Trumpifying. www.offmessage.net/p/the-suprem...
The Supreme Court's Dastardly Plan Makes Court Reform Obligatory

At times Trump explicitly favors some racial groups, like white South Africans, while targeting others, particularly African-Americans and Latinos.

Trump is “weaponizing the tools of the Civil Rights Movement” against the people intended to be its beneficiaries. trib.al/NBAG5Lr
Donald Trump’s Sick, Cynical Racial Con—and How to Fight It
Professors Hakeem Jefferson and Victor Ray argue that the Trump administration goes way beyond past Republican administrations on racial issues, often explicitly favoring white people in its policies.

The problem is people still believe that they aren’t sticking to their principles

Anti Blackness , Anti Palestinian advocacy is a principle

DEI Abandonment and extractive relationships has been the “principles”

They just aren’t being rewarded

The principles need to change
The lesson of the Trump era is to stick with your principles. He’s coming for you anyway, whether you do or not, so you might as well stick to your principles so people don’t laugh at you afterward and you can look yourself in the mirror.
Pity the ADL. It went out of its way to defend Elon Musk's definitely-not-a-sieg-heil, and in return gets this.
Unfortunately, crocheting is faster, so us knitters usually lose that race.

The most important thing about the government shutdown is: How long are the GOP willing to keep the government closed and cause immeasurable harm to US citizens and residents in order to avoid swearing in Representative Adelita Grivalda and allow her to vote to release the Epstein files?

I don't think you all understand what poverty is like in America. You can't. If you do then stop suggesting LGBT and Black people leave America. Want us to escape, donate to our escape funds.

A few weeks ago I had Covid, Flu, and Tetanus shots (secondary to a dog bite) at the same time on the same arm. Some minor soreness and a touch of fatigue for about a day, and then peace of mind for at least 6 months. Totally worth it.
Tip for defiant MFers today: Create a playlist of songs that make you feel courageous on your favorite music app and play it when the doomscrolling gets to you. Listen to them or dance to them or sing out loud to them or blast the neighbors with them. Your call.
I routinely have enough anxiety about *making the appointment* for a vaccine that I get 2-3 at a time. Very occasionally I'll have a bit of a flu-like reaction for a day or two. Usually at worst I have a sore arm and greatly boosted immunity against 2 or more viruses.
This is *normal* for many neurodivergent and/or disabled folks. The trick is to recognize the waves, ride the waves to shore, then grab the surfboard and paddle back out again.
After nearly a solid week of my ADHD and autism being at war with each other to the point that for several nights I got no more than 4 hours of sleep, I'm now more or less back on track and trying to catch up on the things that my disregulation wouldn't allow.
The same people who fantasize about going back in time and changing one small detail to divert a catastrophe have an unsettling tendency to believe that the small changes they make in the present are meaningless.
