Hi! Figured I'd finally set up an introductory post. I'm Rose. I would consider myself a leftist. I'm an atheist. I'm disabled. I mostly use this to stay updated on current events. I love calling out bigots on here, when I have the spoons for it ofc.

Whatever dude. All i keep seeing in your replies is that you think you have a right to police what people spend THEIR money on. MY snap benefits are MY money. Making our food healthier is an entirely separate (tho important) issue to what I should be allowed to buy and consume with MY FUCKIN MONEY 🖕
nyxbornrose.bsky.social
Listen, i agree that UBI should be a thing, but we don't have UBI, SO I'll use my food stamps as i see fit. Maybe focus this energy to campaign more for UBI instead of trying to police and restrict what SNAP users can buy.
nyxbornrose.bsky.social
Universal Basic Income is literally still funded through the government by tax money. Its still "public" money. Theres no difference between UBI paying for my soda and SNAP paying for it, which just makes it weird for you to say one is ok but the other isnt.
nyxbornrose.bsky.social
Which would be so much easier without people trying to police what we can access with what little we have. Everything costs money and everything costs too much fckin money. That soda that's nothing to you is something to others. "Most have jobs" doesn't account for those who don't
nyxbornrose.bsky.social
I cant work. Disability barely covers rent and household expenses. I have a soda as a rare lil treat now and then, maybe once a month or less. It isn't your or anyone else's business if that comes out of the measely amount they give me on SNAP. Us poor folks are just trying to live 🙄
nyxbornrose.bsky.social
If they don't want you telling folks about them defending your rapist and about them harassing you and threatening you and *this* bs, they could literally just fcking stop?

Theres nothing wrong with using your page to speak on your trauma and as a safe space for other women survivors
nyxbornrose.bsky.social
While this is true, its not an excuse. My abuser knew damn well he needed therapy or some form of mental health treatment. He knew he was using his issues as an excuse to hurt people. He refused to seek help and so he made the choice to be an abuser.
nyxbornrose.bsky.social
There's also the fact that some of this is simply them conflating being given factual reasons AI is a problem with actually being insulted. It isn't bigoted or even insulting in any way to point out the real, inherent moral and societal issues in AI development and use
nyxbornrose.bsky.social
I have absolutely 0 patience for AI fans. Anyone claiming that anti-AI bigotry is a thing needs such a severe reality check
nyxbornrose.bsky.social
100% agree. We have no way of knowing how many women will suffer because of this but we do know there will be many. Every move they make erodes the safety of women in this country
nyxbornrose.bsky.social
This regime is stacked with predators and predator-enablers doing everything they can to protect and enable predators
nyxbornrose.bsky.social
To act like having kids is a way for a woman to get to feel loved when having kids is a massive undertaking that shouldnt EVER be seen as a solution to feeling lonely or unloved. Your comment was rude and you shouldnt be surprised at getting a negative response from the child-free. Have a nice day 🙄
nyxbornrose.bsky.social
I really dont care what you think about my credibility. You responded to a post from a woman claiming unconditional love doesnt exist with "do you have kids" as if parenthood is an automatic source for unconditional love and i made the point that that isnt the case. Its also just super inappropriate
nyxbornrose.bsky.social
It doesn't take being a parent to recognize bad parenting. It doesn't take being a parent to recognize potentially traumatic behaviors from parents towards their kids. And, it doesn't take being a parent to be able to be knowledgable about parenting, relationships, love, or literally anything else.
nyxbornrose.bsky.social
Awful or borderline-abusive behavior when called out for it with "well you wouldnt know what you're talking about. You arent a parent." No, Im just a human being who recognizes that children are human beings who deserve respect and dignity that often gets denied to them by their own parents.
nyxbornrose.bsky.social
That because they're a parent they must know better about things like children, relationships, love, purpose, etc. than people who don't have children. Meanwhile I've met so many parents that had absolutely no business raising children. People who treated their kids like shit and defended their own
nyxbornrose.bsky.social
Maybe unpopular opinion but here we go: being a parent doesn't automatically make you any better a person or any more knowledgable about literally anything. So many parents have this attitude (even if they arent aware of it) that being a parent makes them better in some way than the childless.
nyxbornrose.bsky.social
I could list out plenty of hypotheticals that could very well change how you feel about them. Saying "no circumstance" could change how you feel is either hopeful naivety or willful ignorance. Either way, you're wrong and Im not going to argue it any further.
nyxbornrose.bsky.social
I wasnt speaking for you. I spoke for the massive number of children who have grown up knowing they were unwanted and unloved. *You* may feel that you unconditionally love your kids, but you dont speak for every parent or child. Congrats to your kids for having a loving parent, many arent so lucky.
nyxbornrose.bsky.social
Even *if* unconditional love exists (I dont believe it does), I can promise the love between parent and child or child and parent is not necessarily "unconditional" by default and any child who has been through foster care can tell you the same.
nyxbornrose.bsky.social
So you think they should be segregated? Because that's what your statement comes down to: "They can live, but they should be forced to use separate facilities and participate in separate activities"

Meanwhile Christians in the USA refuse to stop trying to force everyone in this country to live their lives based on their own Christianity-based beliefs regardless of who their bs hurts. I have 0 issues with pointing out their crap when they act like they're being oppressed or treated unfairly
nyxbornrose.bsky.social
I agree to an extent. Like i said, a person has a right to hold their religious beliefs and i respect that right. peaking on a subject in a not-so-positive (but realistic) light and actively forcing people to live or believe based on our beliefs or lack there of are very different things.
