No, although there are some w/ hybrid mixes that have private insurance. Many countries were smart to start the process after WWII and build from there. Most are also willing to have more tax money allocated to HC as it‘s a much bigger priority. The US, particularly the GOP is selfish to its core.🤣

Nope. I know exactly what the Dems are. I started working on the Hill while still in my teens (for the then most liberal Senator, lol), and I know their platforms, goals (and limitations) going back decades and for the future. I simply won’t jump on populist bandwagons.

I went back to FDR’s proposals & both his & congressional speeches, but, there are numerous good articles on the topic and it is discussed in Jonathan Cohn’s book: The Ten Year War: Obamacare and the Unfinished Crusade for Universal Coverage. The AMA has always been tied into insurance lobbying.

It is from even before that. FDR had universal care planned, but sliced it right off of his bill to protect Social Security to appease the AMA as well as resisting electeds. And this while he had an overwhelming majority.🍸

Not your sis. Every major movement from civil rights to women to labor, etc. has not been led by electeds. We don’t elect magicians with super powers, so waiting for a savior is simply lazy, particularly by those who denied Dems the tools to effect change through their selfish voting habits.
