Hey! I’m Nikhil — AI Engineer & Writer. I build useful AI products, drop hands-on demos, and go deep on what I learn. I write to make the “magic” of AI make sense.

Thanks for being here — I appreciate you.

the monday morning urge to start a new project hitting crazy
turns out I need to stfu (stop thinking) and just take action. the experience is a better teacher than a thousand untested ideas I have
here comes another hectic tech announcements day, time to scroll I guess
Built a real-time image classification system with Terraform and Datadog. Infrastructure deploys in minutes, traces show exactly where each second goes (Nova: 18s, Llama: 7s). No guessing in production. Repeatable deployments, complete observability.

I have a reason to restart writing every week now!
Bet you can’t actually sleep early, eat a decent meal, and do the thing you’ve been putting off. Way easier to scroll until 3am, snack on garbage, and complain tomorrow.
I'm taking the aws devops professional exam soon. On the journey to mlops. I'm building some CICD projects w cfn and terraform, time to add sagemaker too.
this might be fire actually
about 20 days since I went full cold-turkey on my laptop. youtube, x, reddit, crunchyroll are blocked. the big 3. I don't block my phone, but my main problem really is doomscrolling, reading something triggering, then unable to focus for a while. There's no hook to do this now, so I am chilling.
I love to watch content curated not for my enjoyment, but for maximum engagement. The fact that I am treated as a zombie who will continue swiping if my emotions are numb just thrills me.

Make me a zombie. I exist only for the algorithm.
my cold turkey settings are locked the whole day except 8:55 - 9AM. and I wake up late, so no distractions for me.
I can code quickly w claude code. I still watch one piece on my phone. but it's not automatic behavior. I take 3 mins to refocus on what new thing needs to be done. close the laptop when thinking.
ok so it's been a week and a bit since I went full cold turkey on desktop. no Horcus youtube videos (very fun to watch, but distracting), no twitter, no chess. there is no place on the internet where I can be passive. I can be active and post on social media using my agent or buffer.
I want my friends to meet and be well rounded. others can learn about f1 and gym and all. I want to hear random stuff about music, law, food too. I don't want to be silo'd as a {loves X, hates Y} kind of person.

I want to hear about (most) things, it's a missed learning chance otherwise
Never realized we put ourselves in boxes this much ...

I have a friend for gym discussions, another for mild politics / other random stuff, another for f1.
the challenge is to not think at all now.

i'm saying this for me, an overthinker. y'all can continue not thinking for all I care. I just need to execute more rather than thinking about results and all.
everytime we swipe up for a new video, we passively wait for the algorithm to feed us the perfect high or low emotion. this rollercoaster makes us numb to feeling. better to just stay away for a few days, then laugh, think and cry everyday.

Healthier social media use: Pick ONE thing and go deep.
Choose a documentary, thread, or specific author. Ask yourself:

Why was this written?
Is it well-researched?
How would I write this differently?

System 2 = engaged focus.
