I would think they probably were. Most people were church goers back in the day. It’s a lovely city, we’ve had a great time here, the trams are amazing!

Yes 1890’s towers, but still remarkable. Shame you can’t go inside. I’m not a religious person but the fabric, engineering and workmanship of churches fascinates me.

Just finished reading The Children’s Book by A.S. Byatt. Perfect for the start of a long across Europe train trip. Very enjoyable

I just use the Nigella one www.nigella.com/recipes/rock... and sling anything I’ve got into it - raisins, dried cranberries, marshmallows, Crunchies. Nice with nuts but not if it’s needed in a nut free sale. It’s more crunchy using Rich Tea bics than digestives.
Rocky Road Crunch Bars
If ever there were questions raised about the need for Rich Tea biscuits, then Rocky Road would be all the answer required. A doddle to make, and easily transportable, a batch of these has saved me o...

I bet she treasured that too! 🥰 my mum and me lived with my nan (her mother in law) while my dad was doing his national service. My mum didn’t get on well with her own mum but her mother in law was the world to her.
