I’m aware of that. I just wanted to do a soft launch with a small group of users and gradually improve things step by step but things changed with Jay’s repost anyway as I mentioned elsewhere too, I don’t have any connection with Jay or the Bluesky team. This is a completely independent platform.
Tbh i personally dont have any problem with any of that plus this will be a community funded by its users in the future as it grows so anyone is welcome
It’s been quite a busy and tiring few days, but thanks to you all, lots got done 💛 I’ll be taking a short break for a couple of days to rest up a bit. OAuth is nearly complete too, so that’s something exciting to look forward to soon.
🧁 v1.2 released — custom backgrounds, better sorting & more!
Huge thanks to everyone supporting Nooki 💛
Didn’t expect this much traction on day one! It’s just me working on it, so there might be a few hiccups. Seen some hate too, but it’s all good. I’ll keep improving things step by step.
Those bsky_password fields and other random parameters you might see in the screenshot are being injected by whoever's been trying things - they're not part of our actual codebase. They're probably trying to map out the system and find vulnerabilities.
I’ll try to get in touch with them. Just to clarify, when I say each community has its own moderators, there’s no global moderation unless it's something spammy. Everything you post is yours, and you have full control over it.
(2/2) In Nooki, communities can have separate moderators (added by the creator) who manage things their way. I’m also thinking of adding invite-only and request-to-join options so I believe everyone can have a safe, comfy space.
(1/2) Hey. I just noticed this got reposted by Jay last night. A quick clarification: I’ve got nothing to do with it, and Nooki isn’t Bluesky. It’s a separate platform built on AT Protocol.
You’re totally right to be concerned. ATproto still has a few limitations in this area. There’s an ongoing discussion about it on nooki too if you’d like to join in
That dark background was getting kinda dull, so there's now a palette icon in the top right corner that lets you pick from few different lofi backgrounds to set as the background image of nooki. It's only visible to you.
