Shooting with Nate was a surprise birthday present. We had wanted to work together but couldn't find the time. Finally he called to say he'd be out of a theater in an hour & questioned if I'd be free. The theater turned out to be a block from the studio.

We were using champagne as a prop when we discovered that the model had never tasted the French bubbles. We enforced "No drinking while working," but at the end of the session, the model got to taste his first champagne.

Here's Venezuelan telenovela actor, Gabriel, & Hungarian runway model, Rolly.

We were shooting Gabriel In Miami when he excitedly found Rolly in the studio's portfolio.

He knew Rolly! His cousin dated Rolly, a model the studio had shot in NYC.

We shot Gabriel, a Venezuelan telenovela actor, in Miami. As he was looking through the studio's portfolio, he let out an excited yelp. He recognized Rolly, the Hungarian print model we had shot in New York. His cousin had dated Rolly.

We had worked with Alex for almost 3 years when he stepped out from behind the camera one night to fill in for a missing model. We we wound up referring to the session as the "Third Anniversary Shoot."

Saturday evening with Alex, the studio's long-time model/muse/assistant. Present for most of the studio's sessions, whenever a model flaked on us--as was the case here--Alex stepped on the the paper to fill the void ... handsomely!

We captured Dane at the end of the day in the hills above Santa Cruz. Here he's in a clearing between the forest and the apple orchard where days earlier we shot Bond (last week's post). Alas, it was a one-and-done session with the California bodybuilder.

Indeed. Unfortunately, I think it was his one and only time working as a male model. He finished school and started a big-boy job and never came back to the studio.

There are 2 cameras at New Manhattan Studios' photo shoots. We're about finding a pool of light and letting the model play in it while capturing him from multiple angels. Here's Benjamin, caught by the 2nd cameraman while staring at the lead camera.

PIetro followed his friend, Alex (the studio's assistant), into the studio one day to watch. Intrigued, he decided to try out modeling himself. At 21, he took to it like a duck to water; the first timer was a natural!
