You’re not wrong. Personal opinion doing research on 20+ disability models as well as critical/emancipatory autism studies: Since Autism isn’t any one thing, it’s also needs to connect with many different disability models.

I am *so angry*

I just got a text from a colleague who used to work in the biggest emergency room in our area

Her colleague let her know that they're seeing an increase of people coming in with high fevers and that those people are refusing tylenol

not wanting to give a baby w/ fever due to fear

high fever (unlike Tylenol) is PROVEN to increase the risk of birth defects, generally congenital heart & jaw defects & Autistic people are fuckin' rad anyway ffs

Study ignores the double empathy problem - that neurotypical & autistic people struggle equally to understand each other. Instead it reinforces the harmful stereotype that we “lack empathy” - one of the most damaging myths about autism.
