I think Snyder sees team Batman as his Band of The Hawk (not the only berserk comparison you could make to Absolute Batman), but the problem with making that comparison is that we see the Band of the Hawk go on a 95-96 bulls run of mercenary adventures before a everything goes to shit

Each of the reveals should’ve been their own issue imo, if not their own arc. Knocking them down in one fell swoop makes it feel like we’re not in for the long haul, like they’re saying we’ll surf Dracula them towards their mainline counterparts relationships eventually

The first 3 issues juxtaposing Bruce’s descent into Ark M, completely futile attempt at fighting bane, capture and eventual disfigurement with Waylon’s own forced transformation into something totally inhuman is great, especially when we see the contrasting ways they approach grief.
