When Docker first came out I was asked multiple time to build a development toolchain with Docker. It's really to see cool to see tooling like the devcontainer standard these days! Solves so many problems we were dealing with then.

Well I found my new favorite distro and it's Bluefin.
Thank you! Can't believe I missed that. Got specific suggestions you've liked?
So I'm JUST diving into this and I'm sure other already know way more than me, but here are my leads on running your own AI assisted coding tools:
But at the same time... AI Assisted coding tools ARE kinda awesome. Bare minimum they help me think about my code differently like TDD, Domain Driven Design, or so many other tools do. Best case, maybe they can help me write more things or different things.
But you know what? I've been a crafts person all this time and I don't intend to stop being able to produce without paying someone else to be able to write.
And dreaming of a world that transforms the producers into consumers. Classic.

So this thread feels triply important to me.
Coming back to this thread... After deeper research I'm finding lots of people who've built LLM products who are excited about the prospect of individual software developers spending $200 a month on side projects. Sounds to me like some people are dreaming of a world where wealth builds code.
This year I re-learned that asking dumb questions is the first step towards asking smart questions.
Love this. I just started thinking about what it'd take to provide an LLM to at least my neighborhood community.

Do folks in this thread know good resources to start learning in this direction?
