Jamie insists “I’m happy enough here…”
Kirsty looks at him knowingly and says “Wouldn’t you be happier with the Doctor?”
Jamie’s eyes widen and then glance away, a tinge of pink to his cheeks. “But, Kirsty—“ he tries to say but she cuts him off.
“Don’t worry. I’ll be fine,” she insists.
Jamie looks at her and then looks up to the sky again.

Jamie and Kirsty sit together on the look both looking up at the moon and the stars over the mountains a while, then Kirsty gets up and says “I hope he will return to you. If he loves you he will come back.”
She kisses Jamie on the top of the head and wraps her shawl around him, smiling as she touches his face.

Kirsty waves and says “Goodnight” as she makes to head back inside the house. Jamie watches her go and then looks up at the sky longingly.
Far away on another planet, in another time, the Second Doctor stands alone beside the TARDIS looking out over a body of water and the the planetary rings streaking across a sunset sky.
Jamie’s words are overlaid over the image, asking “Where are you, Doctor? Why do I miss you so much? Do you miss me too?”

Kirsty asks Jamie “Do you still love him?”
Jamie swallows nervously and bows his head. “I— I’m sorry, Kirsty,” he says.
Kirsty waves off the apology and says “Oh, don’t be sorry, Jamie. I knew.”
The two of them look to the sky again.

Jamie says “I think I will miss him forever.” He lifts a hand and places it over his heart and continues, “I don’t remember him but I know that I love him anyway.”
He curls his hand into a fist. “He’s gone though. I won’t see him again,” he says as Kirsty watches him sadly.
“You don’t know that for sure,” she says.

Kirsty watches Jamie a moment before she smiles and says “Listen, Jamie, if he comes back I want you to go with him.”
Jamie is shocked by her words. “What!? What are you saying!?” he cries.
Kirsty shakes her head and looks at him gently. “Be happy,” she tells him.

His eyes widen when Kirsty says “But you miss him anyway.”
He lowers his hands and admits “Yes. Every day. All the time. I don’t know why.”
He drops his face miserably into his palms. When Kirsty asks him “Did you love him?” his eyes widen in shock and he looks up warily.
