Great question! Scotland supporters, who starts at Two in the Autumn?
Ashy done enough to remain a starter?
There’s just something about those offloads from the deck after tackle complete, which are routinely allowed to pass without scrutiny, but which *feel* incompatible with the Laws as written.
If you’re a foreign player in the Top14, but in the pack, you can be mediocre most weeks yet not attract criticism. However, if you’re a Back - especially a Back keeping out a Fra international, you can’t even be good week on week. You have to be exceptional, otherwise you’re targeted for criticism.
If anything, Farrell got ahead of the ball carrier & was obstructing. So caused the head clash from an illegal position. Suspect that’s why the crowd were initially booing when Teal said ‘rugby incident’. They thought he was reviewing an incident AGAINST Farrell!

It was incredibly strange from the TMO: “I’m asking you to consider he was there as the support player”. Just appeared to be making up Laws on the fly because it involved Saracens/Farrell?!?
Large sections of English rugby press now having to rewrite pre-prepared copy & podcast scripts, as Saracens not only lose - but their stalwart feature piece focal point, Owen Farrell has quite a poor game overall. Unfortunately, they also lost to Quins, so the net result is still ear ache inducing.
How on earth is that head contact on Farrell?!? TMO seeing the England ex-Captain & calling it foul play against Quins?? Farrell is t the ball carrier and runs directly into him. If anything he’s obstructing a tackler. TMO’s attempt to justify as ‘there in support’ very curious/weird indeed.
He’s jogging around doing the grunt work. Typical stuff from a new signing looking to settle in. He’s not carrying as hard as he used to, which is telling. But he’s still got pace & footwork, which makes him stand out against many in the Prem.
Farrell is very clearly on the decline. Incredible to hear England commentators argue he’s still in the mix for the starting Ten national jersey.
At only 33, Turner likely still has several more seasons of pro rugby left in him. Especially in a league like the Prem. But from a Test Match perspective, while completely understandable, it’s clear his injuries & Japan time has started a decline. Ashman, Harrison, Richardson etc have a window.
Malins watching the opposition score & probably secretly relieved he didn’t have to field a high ball with that frankly obscene sun in his eyes.
Great to see Andy O-C back in the regular lineup for Saracens following that horrific injury. Fully expect he’ll play a big part in the Scotland Autumn International series, including against NZ. Feel like he’s still just a little off his full ability - but well on his way back!
Understood it last year. Less so second season with the team. Farrell isn’t good enough to play Ten now, even in the Prem. Speed of thought even slower than it once was, while his movement & execution ball in hand is painfully slow.
GT now on at Hooker for Quins. Great to see after his injury scare last weekend.
Just not sure what Saracens are trying to achieve with Farrell as 2nd First Receiver. He’s not swapping out for Burke in Ten slot. Nor is he offering anything telling in 12 channel. Bit of a luxury tbh & other than a couple of training ground moves, he’s arguably costing them more than he’s adding.
Baxter folding & cranking with his outside arm. Flats & co refusing to call him for it because he’s an England international. Officials absolutely clueless to it per usual.
Most positively for Glasgow/worrying for Dragons was that the hosts were fairly third gear for a lengthy part of the match too.
No idea why it’s still part of the game. Suspect many/most players & supporters would agree. Certainly Bath would, as Beno Obano going off last year helped get Leinster out of jail when under pressure in that European match. Feels like game/scoreboard impact of scrums is very unbalanced.
Dunn is the heartbeat of that club. He bleeds club colours. Can’t fault that aspect in the slightest.
The 50 would be nice, but the doughnut is the real prize.
Lovely way to cap 100 appearances for Matthews.
Finn Russell’s delayed pass at the line is an absolute nightmare for blitz defences.
Very unfortunate with those injuries the past few. Lost multiple starters - and a hybrid!
Gregor the Lion Brown!
