Columbus Day did not become federal holiday until law passed in 1968 - an attempt by Democrats to hold onto Italian voters moving towards GOP because of backlash against civil rights.

Just bizarre to have a holiday honoring only one of countless immigrant groups who came to this country.

First national celebration of Columbus Day done as form of apology to Italian community after 11 Italian immigrants were lynched in New Orleans.

There is not some "escalation" or "both sides" politicizing prosecutions.

One thing Cuomo's mealy-mouthed response should remind the media of: Trump was not taken down by Tish James & Manhattan DA because he's a Republican, he was taken down because he was corrupt and sexual abuser, just as Cuomo was taken down because he was corrupt and a sexual abuser.
