FF X had constraints such as having to match audio timings perfectly that can make for some awkward line reads here and there, but it was miles above a lot of Square stuff until FF XII got all the theater actors to really go crazy haha

it was a big problem in a lot of square 2000 titles, crisis core also suffers from this a lot in a lot of scenes, it's kinda funny that one of their best voiceovers was one of their first, FF X despite the constraints it has to fall in due to them stumbling around at times, is way better than most

it kinda sucks growing up and going back to older pieces of media you enjoyed in the past and seeing the flaws they have now after experiencing really good shit.

Such as the fact that the kingdom hearts games have maybe some of the worst voice direction and pacing in their dialogue like, ever lol

It was literally the reason the game failed, rates were too generous and they gave you so much resources you never had to spend a cent unless you wanted an outfit
