It's sickening the way the legal requirement of #InformedConsent is flouted time & time again with zero consequence to the surgeon/consultant/GP yet with devastating lifetime consequences for the patient.

The barbaric perineal post, known by the surgeon to cause intimate crush damage.

Would you want to know if this was being used during your elective hip surgery?

Too many patients weren't warned that the risk from this #MedicalDevice was more dangerous than the operation itself?

These are barbaric medical devices that belong in a medieval torture chamber, NOT in a hospital environment.

Our bodies were risked, damaged and traumatised WITHOUT regard, WITHOUT #InformedConsent.

This is NOT informed consent! ⬇️

"Neurovascular damage." Where he was cutting the skin on the outside of my hip??

"Applying traction to the foot." No mention of the perineal post that would be forced between my legs??

No mention of the risk of intimate crush/nerve damage, risk to sexual function??

Literature given to me by the Princess Grace Hospital to explain how my hip arthroscopy would be performed.
