We're not having an epidemic of book banning. TKaM and Fahrenheit 451 are on high school required reading lists in deep-red Florida school districts.

That's the exact opposite of "banned."

How can it be honest to claim that books on approved reading lists in some of the most conservative areas of the US are somehow banned?

Or that books repeatedly challenged by Black parents are "banned" by Republicans?

I'll summarize. In lieu of a substantive response you 1st suggested that I didn't (or couldn't) read, then, that I was "mean" and, finally, that you couldn't understand a simple, direct question: "who is 'they?'"

You're playing dumb - a very common response from the left.

TKaM, like Huckleberry Finn, is commonly challenged by Black parents and students for use of racial slurs & stereotypes & perceived white-savior tropes.

Both books & Fahrenheit 451 are required 12th grade reading in my deep-red county.
