Real texts coming from E-ZPass come from 39769, start with EZPNY, and will include only links to E-ZPassNY.com or TollsByMailNY.com.

To check your toll status and make payments, visit e-zpassny.com or download the Tolls NY app.

FYI: Another wave of fake toll texts is being sent to New Yorkers!

These messages claim you owe money and include a phishing link. Don’t click on the link, and don’t answer the text. E-ZPass and Tolls by Mail never send unsolicited payment demand texts like this.
Image of two text message screenshots side by side. The left one is labeled 'Example Scam Text" and shows a fake spam text about paying E-ZPass tolls and features a phishing link. The right text message screenshot is titled "Real Text From E-ZPass NY" and showcases a legitimate text from E-Pass NY and Tolls By Mail.
