I've lost control of my life. I managed a Pac-Man based art account on that OTHER site once. I mod Pac-Man World Re-Pac 1 & 2 now.

It's finally here: Pac-Family Restoration Mod 2.
After two weeks in development, hopefully it will have been worth the wait.
Please let me know what you think. Thanks, and have fun.

I didn't know that Re-Pac 2 had a Gamebanana page yet.

I don't know yet. I'd have to either remember my old password and update my username or make a new account.

and then there's the bajillion questions gamebanana asks you every time you upload something

it's just so much hassle

I think that's a question better geared towards someone with more intricate knowledge of modding games on the Unity engine.

You could maybe use ReShade in the meantime or something.

I have absolutely no idea how I would add Sour Puss to the game.
I could replace Chomp Chomp / Pac-Buddy, I suppose.
It's a rather low-priority mod, though.
mrmcscrewup.bsky.social
I did not use World 3's voice lines. There weren't any that fit Re-Pac 2's particular use cases.

Before you start trying to install Re-Pac 1 mods, you'll need to follow this video tutorial.

I have made a tutorial for decompressing Re-Pac's main data file.
Before installing the patches that I am about to upload and share, you must follow the instructions here.
I apologize for the poor quality of the footage; I didn't realize the screen recording was low-resolution until it was too late.
mrmcscrewup.bsky.social
Of course I do, I'm the one who made it.
There's some caveats, though.

1. Modding Re-Pac 1 requires going through an annoying decompression process.
2. Re-Pac 1's Pac-Family restoration mod uses an old Ms. Pac-Man model that doesn't look as nice. (Still a huge improvement over Pac-Mom, though.)

Here is a new update for the Re-Pac Pac-Family Restoration mod.
This version uses UABE's .emip packages instead of .xdelta patches. It also relies on MelonLoader.
While the download includes instructions, I will also provide brief instructions here, with visual aids.

As for replacing Spooky's voice:

A. The original PMW2 VA didn't talk nearly enough to make a voice model of him.

B. I LIKE the Re-Pac 2 voice actor. I have no desire to replace Daman Mills's work. The lack of evil voice filter is a failure on NowPro's part, not the VA.

(4/4)
mrmcscrewup.bsky.social
However, if I were to replace a voice actor's ENTIRE work that way, I'd get crucified, and rightfully so. It'd be way too insulting to Alejandro Saab (Re-Pac 2) and I don't think John Guerrasio (World 3) would appreciate that level of AI voice theft. Use of AI should be kept to a minimum. (3/4)
mrmcscrewup.bsky.social
Patching some existing lines with AI for the purpose of maintaining maximum consistency with what's already in the game is something I can get away with. Most of the legitimate work from the original voice actor is left intact. (2/4)
mrmcscrewup.bsky.social
I am not skilled enough to modify game mechanics or camera placement.

While I'd love the old Blinky voice back, unless I stumble upon someone who can do a perfect impression of [RED GHOST]'s voice from Pac-Man World 3, that would require full AI replacement, which I refuse to do. (1/4)

PC only.
I don't own a hacked Switch and I'm not going to pay the king's random required to own one just for the niche purpose of modding those versions of Re-Pac.
There's also a non-zero chance that the audio decryption key is different on Switch. I'm NOT going through the hell of finding it again.

Even if I gave him the propeller, I wouldn't be able to make it spin. It just wouldn't look right.
At best, I could give him his Pac-Man 2 hat, but I doubt anyone's asking for that.

Here's another Re-Pac 2 audio mod.

It restores the voice filter for Spooky (and another character) from their original game.

Please note that this mod assumes you have the Pac-Family Restoration mod installed.

This new mod also integrates the hotfix for that mod.

A problem affecting a single line of dialogue that wasn't there during an earlier test somehow found its way into the public release of the Pac-Family Restoration mod for Re-Pac 2.

Please install this fix to patch the issue after installing the mod.

The Pac-Boy model wasn't offensive enough for me to bother making a new model.

The only visual change made to Pac-Jr. was the removal of the blush, since Pac-Baby model doesn't account for the presence of the Pac-Sis blush. Pac-Jr.'s texture was altered slightly to be consistent with Pac-Baby.

Splicing also sounded too unnatural. Pac-Ranger in particular didn't have enough material to make spliced words sound convincing.

With my lack of resources and connections, using the forbidden tools was my best option.

I cope by telling myself "at least I didn't use them for evil"

Someone who could do impressions would be ideal, but I feel like that would be like finding a unicorn.

I also couldn't very well ask Martin Sherman or Keith Silverstein to re-record those lines without causing them potential legal trouble with Bandai Namco. (1/2)

You won't need to go through the same decompression process as Re-Pac 1, and there's some files you need to copy to the "StreamingAssets" folder, but yes, it's the same .emip patch procedure as for the last game.
mrmcscrewup.bsky.social
it'll be a while before it happens due to the tedious work involved in just replacing ONE track, let alone 40+ tracks
mrmcscrewup.bsky.social
An "original soundtrack" mod for Re-Pac 2 will take a VERY long time to make due to the amount of keys that need to be calculated.
Creating new audio requires combining the master key with a subkey for each individual .acb file.

Every song in the game has its own .acb file.

Don't hold your breath.

i always found that a bit fucked up

do you realize how unsettling it would be to see a deformed clone of yourself wearing a recolor of your mother's favorite hat
