That sort of stuff you do have to plan out

I had a timeline problem with a vampire story. I realized I needed a different villain and he was human but that shortened the time frame to a point before Kansas was actually settled … decisions decisions

A4. Two problems: scale and overthinking

Scale as I’m thinking way too large for the story and also not having a sense of scale and distances

Overthinking… just stop already!

Q4: What aspects of worldbuilding do you find most frustrating? #WeeknightWriters
Thanks. I have a friend who’s actually made tens of dollars in RPG publishing asking me why I haven’t started already since I mentioned it years ago!

Christopher J.Burke in Brooklyn and I’m updating my first self-pub book for when I get a new cover and I started putting together my 6th mini book which I wanted to have 7 time travel flash pieces but I don’t seem to have that many
I used some in another book

Hello #WeeknightWriters! Come on in, introduce yourself and your WIP, and let us know how your #FirstDraftFall planning is going!
A1 (cont) Nowadays I have characters or a situation first and try to build the world around it on a way that makes sense and then see if sequels (or further adventures) make sense

#WeeknightWriters
Q1: Do you build your world to suit your story and/or characters or does the world come to you first? #WeeknightWriters
It got to the point that I considered packaging some of my background as gaming material for fantasy role playing because I wasn’t writing stories
#WeeknightWriters
A1 I used to build a lot of worlds first which doesn’t work well for me because then I need to come up with a story. It’s not enough to have readers come in and play in my sandbox

+1 for the Kindness of Strangers
Yes, that says The Marx Brothers and Salvador Dali!
They’re using clips from my interview in commercials to promote CBS 2 NY News
Did you ever wonder what it must be like to be a janitor with Top Secret clearance?

I mean, what even makes a janitor seek Top Secret clearance in the first place, and what kind of trash (and recycling!) do they have to deal with?
Anyone know of a short video about iconography in graphic novels (or comic books) that I can show in class?

Google isn’t being helpful

Thanks.
Sunday afternoon!
That means it's time to Annoy the Neighb--
I mean. Meet theAuthir!
Come on by!
NEW BOOK ALERT!
What goes on inside my mind, Part e^pi:

Walk into the bakery and ask for 1 panini

Start thinking: 1 panini, 1 panini, 1 panini, 1 panini, …

Walk out humming Happy Trails to You…

Literally just there a week ago, finishing off Church Ave.
Flatlands is pretty flat.
The terminal moraine passes through Flatbush so it’s a little hilly. I guess the bushes were flat though
Once I went east and started walking back west it started filling up

Okay, I'll be back.
I can log out of Google Meet, but I need to get something to eat and take out the trash. (I hope it isn't still raining.)

A1 Doing okay, but trying to keep one step ahead at my school is not an easy thing to do, especially with the courses they gave me to teach this term.

Q1: How are you holding up this week? Vent as much as you need to, this is a safe space (as safe as any public social media space can be) #WeeknightWriters
